From Carriage Wheels to City Living
Constructed in 1894, the Warehouse Lofts is a six-story Cream City brick building measuring approximately 100' by 150.' Beneath the beautiful brick exterior, you will find wooden posts with iron caps supporting timber beams, hardwood floors and an earth foundation.
The building originally served as a warehouse for Suelflohn & Seefeld, wholesale dealers in carriage hardware, wagon woodwork and other supplies. That firm went out of business around 1930, and in 1933 the building was leased to a competing hardware firm, Shadbolt & Boyd Co. Shadbolt & Boyd purchased the building in the 1960s and remodeled the first and second floors.
In 1994, the Green Bay firm Thew Supply purchased Shadbolt & Boyd and moved the operation from 413 N. Second Street to a new warehouse outside the city.
In the late 1990's, the building was sold to Second Property LLC. Today, you may buy one of these beautiful lofts, where your home will be a piece of Milwaukee history.
